Gem

Gem is a card type. Gems are used by setting them on the Colossus and in the Locus, and are indispensable for the game's advancement. They are used for building up Gem Levels, and setting up for Gem Complete. Gems have one of four colors; white, black, blue, or red.

Gems that are set in the Set Gem Area are called Set Gems, and the opposing player's Gems that are captured and placed in the Capture Gem Area are called Capture Gems. Capture Gems are treated as colorless Gems.

● Gems can be set onto the Colossus, or placed into the Locus face-down.
● Unlike Follower Cards and Action Cards, a Deck can have more than 3 copies of Gem Cards of the same name. However, a Deck can only have up to 20 Gem Cards in total.

Gem/Unique, or Unique Gem Card, is a subtype of Gem Cards. They are special, in that they are the only Gems with card abilities. Gem/Unique have a ★ to the left and right of their names, and only 1 Gem/Unique of the same name can exist on each player's field at the same time, not including Gem/Unique in the Locus and the Capture Gem Area.

Unlike normal Gems, Gem/Unique do not have a color outside of the Set Gem Area, and are instead called after the nation they belong to, such Piadin Gems. They are therefore not affected by card abilities that specify a Gem color, when outside of the Set Gem Area.

● Gem/Unique are only treated as a Gem of their respective nation's color when they are set on the Colossus as a Set Gem.
● Unlike normal Gems, a Deck can only have up to 3 copies of a Gem/Unique Card of the same name. However, they are still included in the maximum limit of 20 Gem Cards.
● Only Gem/Unique of the same name cannot exist on a player's field at the same time. A player can still have more than 1 Gem/Unique of different names on their field.
