Attack

Attack refers to changing a Follower in ON Position to OFF Position, and using it to make an attack on one of three targets; the opposing player's Deck, OFF Follower, or Locus Card. Attacks can be performed during the Main Phase.

● A player can attack with ON Followers on their field, one at a time.
● OFF Followers cannot attack.
● Followers cannot attack during the same turn that they come into play. Followers can only attack starting from the player's next turn after they come into play.
● Each Follower can only attack once during the Main Phase, even if they are turned to ON Position again after attacking, unless a card ability states otherwise.
● An attacking Follower selects one of three targets to attack; the opposing player's Deck, OFF Follower, or Locus Card.

Process of Attack

Attack Declaration Step
● Select the attack target and the attacking Follower, then OFF the attacking Follower.
X-Play
Defense Declaration
● The opposing player who is attacked declares if they will block or not.
● If the opposing player blocks, they select an ON Follower as the blocking Follower, then OFF the blocking Follower.
X-Play
Attack Resolution / Battle Resolution Step
● When an attack to the Deck or Locus is not blocked, the Attack Resolution is carried out.
● When an OFF Follower is attacked, or when an attack is blocked, the Battle Resolution is carried out.

Process of Attack Resolution: When the Deck is attacked

Crush
● Reveal cards from the top of the opposing player's Deck one by one, by flipping them face-up, equal to the value of the attacking Follower's Crush Point.

Capture and Discard
● If there are Gem Cards revealed, capture them by setting them in the attacking player's Capture Gem Area, equal to the value of the attacking Follower's Capture Point. After that, place the remaining cards into the opposing player's Discard Pile.
● If more Gem Cards are revealed than the attacking Follower's Capture Point, only the first Gem Cards revealed are captured, and the remaining are discarded.

Process of Attack Resolution: When the Locus is attacked

Reveal the Locus Card
● Reveal 1 selected Locus Card by flipping it face-up, without changing its position in the Locus.

Attack Resolution
A. If the revealed card is a Gem Card
Capture the Gem Card by setting it in the attacking player's Capture Gem Area. All Followers can capture 1 Gem Card from the Locus, regardless of their Capture Points.
● Gem Cards that were previously face-up before the attack resolution can be captured as well.
● The opposing player whose Gem Card was captured, draws 1 card from the top of their Deck, chooses 1 card from their hand, and places it face-down into the same Locus where the Gem Card was captured.

B. If the revealed card is not a Gem Card
● The revealed card is left face-up in the Locus, and the game continues. The revealed card retains its function as a Locus Point.

C. If the revealed card has [Locus Trick]
● The revealed card can be played, as long as its Gem Level is fulfilled.
● If its Gem Level is not fulfilled, or if the opposing player decides not to play it, it remains face-up in the Locus.

When the attacking Follower has [Double Break]
● The attacking player selects 2 Locus Cards and the order of which they are revealed, then carries out step ① and ②, with 1 Locus Card at a time.
● Only the first Gem Card revealed is captured. If both Locus Cards revealed are Gem Cards, the second Gem Card is not captured, and remains face-up in the Locus.

Process of Battle Resolution: When a Follower is attacked, or the attack is blocked

Calculating battle damage
● Verify any modifications of the Attack Points and Resistance Points.
● Subtract the battle damage from the blocking Follower's Resistance Point, equal to the attacking Follower's Attack Point.
● Subtract the battle damage from the attacking Follower's Resistance Point, equal to the blocking Follower's Attack Point.

Determining and resolving destruction
● After calculating the result, any Follower whose Resistance Point becomes 0 or less is destroyed, and placed into the owner's Discard Pile.
● Any Follower who still has 1 or more Resistance Point is not destroyed, and remains on the field in OFF Position.
● Any battle damage deducted from a Follower's Resistance Point carries over throughout the Main Phase, and is recovered only during the End Phase.
