Game Basics




1.0 Fundamentals of the game

◎ There are basic play rules that dictate the general flow of the game, as well as card abilities that form up card rules.
◎ When card rules and play rules conflict, card rules are generally prioritized.




2.0 Format of the game

◎ Collect cards released in Theme Decks and Expansion Packs, form a Deck following the Rules, and battle.
◎ The format of the game is a battle between two players, in a turn-based fashion where the priority for plays is passed from one player to another.




3.0 Aim of the game - to defend or to attack

◎ There are 2 winning conditions.
Gem Complete by revealing 6 Gem Cards set in your Locus.
Deck Out when the opposing player's Deck has 0 cards.

◎ There are 3 attack targets.
● The opposing player's Deck, their Locus Card, or their OFF Position Follower.

◎ With the Followers played to your field using the Gems set on your Colossus and the power of Locus Points, attack and defend against the opposing player.




4.0 Types of cards

◎ There are 4 types of cards; Colossus Cards, Follower Cards, Action Cards, and Gem Cards.






4.1 Colossus Cards

◎ At the start of the game, the Colossus is separated from the Deck and placed onto the field.
◎ It is the core of the game.

4.2 Follower Cards

Followers are cards that are in charge of attacking and defending.
◎ By paying a cost, Followers are brought to the field from the hand.
● Paying a cost and bringing a Follower to the field is called "Play".
◎ Followers have many kinds of abilities, including abilities, Keyword abilities, and text-type abilities.
◎ Followers can be set face-down in the Locus.

Follower/Unique is a subtype of Follower Cards.
● Follower/Unique have a ★ to the left and right of their names
● Only 1 Follower/Unique of the same name can exist on each player's field at the same time.

◎ Follower Cards that are placed upright are , and can attack or block.
◎ Follower Cards that are placed sideways are , and cannot attack or block.

Play Cost of cards
Follower Cards and Action Cards

◎ A cost is required to play a card.
◎ The cost for Follower Cards and Action Cards is shown on the top left corner of a card.
◎ The power from Gems set on Colossuses (Gem Level), and the power from Locuses (Locus Cost), call Followers to the field, and bring about effects.



There are 2 White Set Gems, and 4 Locus Cards. However, 1 Locus Point has already been used, as marked by the Locus Counter, so 3 Locus Points can still be used this turn.

● "★Ash★" cannot be played, as it requires a Gem Level of 3 White Gems.
● "Heroic Knight" also cannot be played, as it has a Locus Cost of 4.

"Spurring Griffin" is the only card that can be played, as there are enough Locus Points to pay for its Locus Cost of 3, and enough Gems to fulfill its Gem Level of 2 White Gems.
To play "Spurring Griffin", shift the Locus Counter to the right by 3 Locus Cards, and place "Spurring Griffin" onto the field.




4.3 Action Cards

Actions can activate their effects during the Main Phase, by paying a cost.
◎ Actions can be set face-down in the Locus.
◎ Paying a cost and activating the effect of an Action is called "Play".
◎ After playing, they are placed in the Discard Pile.
Snap Action is a subtype of Action Cards, that can be played during your opponent's Main Phase.

4.4 Gem Cards

Gems are used by setting them on the Colossus.
◎ Gems can be set face-down in the Locus.
◎ There are white, black, blue, and red Gems.
● Your opponent's Gems that are captured and set on your Colossus are treated as colorless Gems.

Gem/Unique is a subtype of Gem Cards.
● Gem/Unique have a ★ to the left and right of their names
● Only 1 Gem/Unique of the same name can exist on each player's field at the same time.

5.0 Colors and Nations of cards

◎ All cards belong to a nation, and have a color type.
● Cards of the Piadin nation are white.
● Cards of the Valden nation are black.
● Cards of the Fastogal nation are blue.
● Cards of the Caoren nation are red.




6.0 Face-up and face-down

◎ The side with the illustration, name, and text is the "face-up" side.
◎ The side with the logo of Colossus Order is the "face-down" side.
Colossus Cards have an illustration covering their whole "face-down" side.

7.0 Structure of a Deck

◎ Each Deck has 1 Colossus Card.
Gem Cards are limited to 20 cards and below.
◎ Cards of the same name are limited to 3 cards and below.
● Non-unique Gem Cards of the same name are not limited
◎ Each Deck has 51 cards in total, including the Colossus Card.




8.0 What is needed in the game (per person)

◎ 1 Deck.
◎ 1 Locus Counter.
● Locus Counters for Colossus Order come with every Theme Deck, but any marker can be used in place, such as a coin or a die.




9.0 Play Area

◎ Cards used in the game are placed in the following areas.
◎ The play area is divided into your area and your opponent's area.
